BANGALORE: India defeated New Zealand by five wickets on the penultimate day of the second and final Test in Bangalore on Monday to clinch the series 2-0.
India, who won the opening Test by an innings and 115 runs in Hyderabad, achieved their 261-run target in the final session.
Virat Kohli (51 not out), skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni (48 not out) and Cheteshwar Pujara (48) were the main scorers for India, while off-spinner Jeetan Patel bagged three wickets for New Zealand.
