Ecuador’s most wanted criminal Adolfo Macias fled from Jail on Sunday prompting a state of emergency in the country with more than more than 3000 personnel have been deployed up till now in the search operation.

On Tuesday the Ecuadorian president Daniel Noboa passed orders to "neutralise" criminal gangs after the gangsters declared war on the country.

The Gangs have reciprocated by taking police officers hostage, the National Prisons Agency (SNAI) said 125 guards and 14 officers have been taken captive in five different cities.

As reported by the Daily Sun, at least 10 people have died in different parts of the country and several have been injured in explosions around the city.

On Tuesday, gangs stormed the building of TC television in Guayaquil with guns and explosives.

In addition, another gang leader and narco boss Los Lobos leader Fabricio Colon Pico, has also escaped since his arrest last Friday for alleged involvement in a plot to assassinate Ecuador's attorney general.

Unverified videos circulating on social media show kidnappers holding hostages with guns on their heads blindfolded reading out a statement to President Noboa "You declared war, you will get war, you declared a state of emergency. We declare police, civilians, and soldiers to be the spoils of war".

In response, Noboa swore "not to negotiate with terrorists nor rest until we return peace to all Ecuadorans."
