Earthlings in the United States, Canada and Mexico are lucky enough to witness the total solar eclipse on Monday but some other countries may also get a glance of the rare performance by the sun and the moon.

According to Euro News, while people in mainland Europe will miss out on this year's total eclipse and may not be able to witness one until 2026, people in the United Kingdom and Ireland may get a glance of the rare celestial event.

As millions of people gather along the narrow stretch from Mexico's Pacific coast to eastern Canada to see the day turn to twilight, people in parts of the UK and Ireland may witness a partial eclipse on Monday, Euro News reported.

Parts of both countries are expected to witness a partial solar eclipse on Monday evening if the weather stays clear.

The west coast of Ireland is expected to have the longest view of the eclipse, with those living in and near the cities of Cork, Limerick, Galway, and Dublin expected to have the best view.

Meanwhile, in the UK, Belfast, Manchester, Liverpool, Inverness Glasgow, and Edinburgh will likely get some visibility from higher ground and with clear skies.

The partial eclipse is expected to start at 8:52pm CET and end at 9:51pm CET.

Otherwise, you may also be able to watch the total solar eclipse 2024 on National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (Nasa) online livestream.

Additionally, you may also watch it on Nasa TV starting at 7pm CET.

The space agency will show telescope views of the sun and there will be appearances by scientists and space station astronauts.
