People in North America are all set to welcome the rare celestial event after seven years, in which the Moon will cover the Sun and cast its dark shadow on our planet Earth, prompting authorities to issue an advisory to take precautionary measures.

Several states in America are in the path of totality — where the sunlight will be completely blocked and there will be a brief darkness for as long as over four minutes.

States, that are to witness a Total Solar Eclipse are Texas Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.

Moreover, some parts of Tennessee and Michigan will also experience the rare event, however, if you are in California, there is some variance for you. It will be a partial eclipse of 50%.

According to a Los Angeles Times report, the sun will be covered by half by Earth’s natural satellite, and in San Francisco, it will only be one-third.

Those in the southern parts of the state can be able to observe it better and those in the northernmost areas will see less of the event.

The local media reports indicate that the coastal county of Del Norte will see 25% eclipse and Holtville, will witness a blockage of up to 58%.
