A little cat was found from inside an Amazon box in California after the pet went missing from Utah, surviving nearly a week without water and food, as owners of Galena was accidentally shipped without noticing, reported the New York Post.

The owner of the kitty Carrie Clark told KSL-TV news agency: "I didn’t believe it at first and thought it was a prank."

After noticing that the pet was nowhere to be found, they started a rigorous search.

Clark explained: “Galena is a huge emotional support to me and has helped me get through many health challenges over the past six years. The anxiety and stress of not knowing what happened to her was excruciating."

For six days, the owner and her family put posters up in the area asking for any information about their cat.

Later, Clark received a call from a vet in California saying that Galena was brought into the clinic, where her microchip was scanned.

The vet explained that the cat had been brought in by an Amazon worker named Brandy, who found the feline in a return box with Clark’s home address on it, according to the outlet report.

"I ran to tell my husband that Galena was found, and we broke down upon realising that she must have jumped into an oversized box that we shipped out the previous Wednesday," Clark stated.

"The box was a ‘try before you buy’ and filled with steel-toed work boots," she explained.

"Galena survived because of her microchip, Brandy’s kindness and generosity, and God’s grace!" she cooed.
