Three explosions hit Allawi neighbourhood at about 1:30 pm (1030 GMT), while militants assaulted the nearby justice ministry, Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service spokesman Sabah Noori told AFP, adding the attacks were coordinated.
Overall, 18 people were killed and at least 30 others wounded, an interior ministry official and a medical source said.
