Kal Penn speaks up about his role in ‘Boy Meets World'

Kal Penn, an American actor, appeared on the podcast Pod Meets World where he opened up about the early days of his career.

Major fans of the show noticed a guest appearance by Penn in the fourth season of the series. After working in the episode titled Quiz Show, he revealed it made a major impression on him.

The actor began his work as an extra while studying at UCLA in the 90s, “I would do this on my days off, mostly because I had never been on a real set before.”

Even though other actors had recommended him to avoid background roles, he found it to be quite useful.

He added that he holds “so much respect” for people who do background roles as their primary work, considering how much effort scoring a role requires.

The Designated Survivor star hadn’t been in contact with the actors from other jobs, but he had done so with the cast of Boy Meets World, “You guys were just great with the background artists. I had done other shows, and I was an extra on other shows.”

Kal Penn admitted that even though his experience on other shows hadn’t been the best, he admired how everyone in the cast seemed to genuinely enjoy their job and were happy to show up.
