Paramount+ has shown the door to Frasier after the sitcom ran for two seasons on the streamer.
However, the series producer, CBS Studios, did not back off after the decision as they shopped for other platforms to continue the show.
Interestingly, Variety reported that it’s unlikely that the sitcom would land on CBS — despite them being the series producer.
Because, the report said, the studio already has seemingly its fair share of comedies, including The Neighborhood, Poppa’s House, George & Mandy’s First Marriage, and Ghosts.
It also noted that the rebooted series of the hit NBC sitcom could not win a single award, though it had three nominations.
Kelsey Grammer, the lead star, previously told the outlet he wanted a “sillier” version of the famous sitcom and was hoping to go “another 100 episodes at least.”
“There’s enough groundwork laid between these human beings; they are wonderful characters. I want to see where they go. And I want to see what happens to Frasier,” the 69-year-old noted.
