Prince Harry and Meghan Markle might just not compromise over one thing.
As per a new article by Vanity Fair, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly told their staff to address them in a formal manner.
In the story by the magazine, it explores the popular couple’s lives five years post their royal family exit, with allegations sparking a noticeable reaction on social media platforms.
According to insiders, there are some staff members of Harry and Meghan who have had negative experiences working for the couple.
Those who are familiar with Harry’s book and Meghan’s Archetypes claimed that despite not being working royals anymore, the staff were asked to address them as “sir” or “ma'am.”
Allegedly, after one person questioned this decision, the instruction was dropped with other interviewees revealing that they were encouraged to address the two by their first names.
One of the insiders suggested that the Harry and Meghan’s preference to be addressed formally might have stemmed from wanting to maintain a sense of prestige, saying, "I think ultimately it's cachet and sets them apart as different and special. In the US, success, money, fame, all of that stuff exists out here. But a blood title, it's few and far between."
This is also not the first time it has been revealed that the working staff were asked to address Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in a formal way, with last year, as per The Mirror, CEO of the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 revealing that he was told to address the couple in a formal manner.
