Cher reportedly has been receiving applause for protecting animals.

As fans will be aware, the songbird has been working for the welfare of animals through her organization, Free The Wild. This entity focuses on rescuing and relocating animals from captivity to sanctuaries.

Now, as per the latest findings of RadarOnline.com, the songbird’s friends have been gushing over her as she has managed to distract herself from boytoy, Alexandar 'A.E' Edwards.

Spilling the beans on the matter, a source told the publication, “Everyone is so proud of Cher for all the work she's doing for these beautiful animals.”

They went on to dish that her friends “are telling her to focus on that and saving Elijah, instead of wasting time on Alex, and the message is getting through."

For those unversed, Cher’s son Elijah has been spiraling again due to struggles with addiction.

Nonetheless, they noted that Cher’s obsession over her beau had finally come to an end and she has returned to fulfilling her responsibilities.

The spy added, "A few months ago, she'd get distressed if he didn't come to see her, but it's dawning on her that he's not a good fit after all.

"Some think he's a leech,” the insider remarked and concluded by saying, "Cher and A.E. may not be totallly broken up, but it's not working, and friends will be thrilled when she finally gives him the boot."
