Robert Pattinson has opened up about when he was worried and almost got turned off acting.
While chatting with Vanity Fair, the Twilight actor also candidly shared name of some of his favorite movies.
“The last few years for the film industry,” he began by saying. “Starting with COVID and then the strikes, everyone was constantly saying cinema is dying.”
Recalling when more than 80 industries were reportedly impacted by coronavirus disease 2019 and Pattinson continued, “And quite convincingly. I was literally almost turned off.
At that time, he was filming The Batman when he tested COVID-19 positive in 2020, and told the outlet, “It actually started to get a little worrying.”
Moreover, he praised some recently released movies like Armand, Anora, and The Brutalist and said, "Then looking in the last few months, there’s this flurry of very ambitious movies.”
“I feel like the stuff that’s going to get nominated for Oscars this year is going to be really interesting, and it seems like there’s suddenly a new batch of directors who the audience is excited about as well."
“I saw this Norwegian movie Armand, which I thought was amazing. My friend Brady Corbet’s movie The Brutalist. Anora. You can even see in terms of script.”
Before concluding, the 38-year-old actor showed hope that his movie Mickey 17, “will come out in a period of enthusiasm for cinema. I don’t know what was going on really, what happened in the Saturn return or whatever it is, but now there’s really cool parts everywhere.”
Mickey 17 is scheduled to be released in cinemas on March 7, 2025.
