WhatsApp is rolling out a new phone call dialer feature to iOS users which allows users to initiate phone calls more conveniently by introducing a secondary view within the calling tabs on iPS with three new shortcuts to enhance the calling experience.

These shortcuts will make the WhatsApp calling experience easier for the users as they will enable the users to quickly start a new call, create a call link and manually enter a phone number even if it is not saved on the device.

The feature is located within the calls tab where users can find a button to create a new call.

Tapping the button will bring up a "Call a Number" option which opens the dialing interface including a dial pad.

Once the user enters the number, WhatsApp checks if the number belongs to a registered user on the platform. If the phone number is associated with a WhatsApp account, it is indicated with a confirmation and it also indicates if it belongs to a verified business account by displaying a verification badge.

This helps the users in knowing if the number they’re trying to contact is reachable on WhatsApp.

The new feature also allows users to add the entered number in the contact list without leaving the app. It also provides a shortcut to start a chat with the newly saved number.

The feature is currently rolling out and can be downloaded from the latest update available on the App Store.
