Michael Imperioli is calling to mind his days on the set of Sopranos.

In a talk with PEOPLE magazine with costar Steve Schirripa, the 59-year-old American actor and novelist talked about one scene that needed 12 takes.

Imperioli reminisced about filming the scene in Sopranos season 3 after the death of Livia Soprano, when they returned to the house.

He shared, "Janice [Aida Turturro] wanted everybody to say something about her, and [my character] said something about, some kind of esoteric thing about no two people are the same."

Then his character, Christopher Moltisanti, said, "They say, there's no two people on earth exactly the same. No two faces, no two sets of fingerprints. But do they know that for sure? Because they would have to get everybody together in one huge space, and obviously that's not possible even with computers."

Imperioli revealed that his comments left everyone in awe and uncomfortable and after the tension reached its peak, Janice Sopranos played Livia's favourite song, If I Loved You from Carousel.

“And, when they played the song from Carousel, we just all started laughing hysterically and they had to cut. This happened at least 12 takes in a row,” he recounted.

“So, what should be one of the saddest scenes, right, cause it's Livia's funeral turned into this thing that we just couldn't shoot because people were just laughing too much. It's actually a very fond memory,” Imperioli said.
