Joe Perry, famed for being the guitarist and founding member of the legendary band, Aerosmith, is going on tour!

The iconic musician is set to hit the road in August, alongside members of his band, the Black Crowes, and Stone Temple Pilots.

This comes after Aerosmith was forced to announce their unexpected retirement due to their lead vocalist, Steven Tyler, suffering from a fractured larynx.

Now, Joe Perry’s tour is set to kick off in Tampa, FL on August 13 and will conclude in Port Chester, NY on the August 23.

He would be accompanied by Aerosmith star Brad Whitford, who plays the guitar for the band in tandem with Perry, and touring keyboardist, Buck Johnson.

The Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson will front the band, while the Stone Temple Pilots rhythm section of bass player Robert DeLeo and drummer Eric Kretz would complete the line-up.

This tour would mark the first time Perry and Whitford would work together since their 2024 tour which came to an unexpected end.

Back in 2023, Perry spoke of Whitford and his talent, telling Guitar World, “It's always rubbed me the wrong way when people put Brad down and refer to me as the lead guitarist. Some of the best solos in our catalog are ones Brad did.”

In another interview the same year, Whitford agreed with Perry, echoing the same mindset, as he explained how frustrating it is sometimes that many believe Aerosmith’s iconic guitar moments came from his partner musician and not him.

“After Rocks came out, Aerosmith was touring England, and I was sitting in a bar in London reading a review of the album in Melody Maker,” he said, adding, “And when they got to talking about Last Child, they started talking about how it sounded like Jeff Beck, which was very flattering. But then I kept reading, and they gave Joe credit for the guitar solo and kept comparing it to Jeff Beck. I read that, and I fucking went nuclear.”

“I was just so p***ed off. It’s like, here I am, having my fucking work being compared to Jeff Beck, and they’re crediting Joe Perry. It was b***s**t, and I was so upset.,” Whitford further said at that time.
