At the Sean “Diddy” Combs trial, the prosecution spent two days to establish that the “freak offs” currently in discussion at court, proved to be scary and humiliating experiences for Cassie Ventura.
However, attempting to change the narrative, defense lawyer Anna Estevao introduced s**ually explicit conversations where Ventura has claimed she was excited before a "freak off.”
Another text from her, who dated Diddy from 2007 to 2018, showed her stating that she had an "aggressive sexual side,” as per BBC.
The defense also tried to disprove Ventura’s claims that she was embarrassed and wanted her s** acts to stay concealed to prevent her image from being tarnished.
In further questioning, the defense also attempted to battle the racketeering charges against the disgraced music mogul, asserting that there was a team who helped to organize these s((ual acts.
When Estevao asked the Me & U crooner if she ever saw an assistant walk in the middle of a "freak-off" Ventura answered, "I was high," stating she is not confirmed about it and doesn't recall any staff directly seeing what was happening in the hotel rooms.
Before the court went for a lunch break, the defense also questioned her about her and Diddy’s use of drugs during their long relationship, where Ventura then revealed that, the music executive, like her, needed time to recover from the "freak-offs" and that he was addicted to opioids.
And when Estevao questioned if Diddy's behaviour was influenced due to drug withdrawals, changing how he would treat Ventura, she did confirm that withdrawal made him more irritated but could not specify if his mood was worse or not.
As Ventura was asked by the defense that she insisted on recording the alleged “freak offs” on her devices to which the Kiss Me hitmaker replied firmly saying she didn’t want them recorded but Estevao established that Diddy appeared in the videos as well in an attempt to strengthen their claim that Ventura had a choice about whether to participate in the sessions, and was a willing participant.
