Wicked is considered one of the hit stage plays, but when it was adapted to the big screen, the makers made a few changes in the sequel.

In an interview with GQ, Jonathan Bailey, who plays Fiyero, revealed those changes in the upcoming sequel. “There really is lots of new stuff,” he told GQ.

He continued, “When [Fiyero] leaves with Elphaba and they go to her lair where she’s staying – on stage you just accept that she’s living in a pit of dry ice, but in the film it’s really beautifully realised and thought out by the departments and Cynthia and me.”

In the meantime, the trailer of Wicked: For Good has been released, which sees Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Jeff Goldblum, Michelle Yeoh, and Marissa Bode reprising their characters.

It is relevant to mention that the play on which the movie is based was adapted from a novel by Gregory Maguire in 1995, titled Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West.
