King Charles has granted a major new responsibility to his son and the future king, Prince William, and his wife, Kate Middleton.

According to latest reports, the monarch has given the Prince and Princess of Wales the power to award Royal Warrants.

These royal warrants are special marks of approval for businesses that provide goods or services to their household, per GB News.

The report further revealed that for a business to acquire the warrant, it must have worked with the royal household for at least five of the last seven years.

These businesses must also show high standards in quality, service, and care for the environment, the report added.

As for the companies that already have a royal warrant from when Charles was the Prince of Wales must reapply by the end of July.

A royal spokesperson said William and Kate are happy to support and celebrate British businesses in this way.

"Their Royal Highnesses are delighted to be able to recognise and celebrate British industry, creativity and skills through the granting of Warrants," Sir Ian Patrick, Private Secretary to The Prince of Wales stated..
