Meghan Markle has landed in trouble over her latest antics as the Duchess of Sussex launched her wine Rosé under As Ever label on the birthday of her husband Prince Harry’s late mother.
A royal expert has called Meghan’s latest the timing a “profound misjudgement” for choosing what would have been the late Princess Diana’s 64th birthday.
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield cited a past claim from a royal source and said that Princess Beatrice once overheard Meghan telling Harry that Diana had spoken to her during a yoga session.
Schofield argued that Meghan is trying to link alcohol to the memory of one of the most tragic moments in royal history when Diana passed away following a tragic accident in Paris.
Some reports claim that the night of Diana’s accident, the chauffer behind the wheels was “drunk.”
Speaking to The Sun, the expert said, "I feel like Meghan has hijacked or attempted to hijack this woman's legacy, to the point where Meghan is so important that Diana is speaking to her from the other side of the yoga mat.
"So to claim ignorance here doesn't hold up. It wasn't just insensitive,” she added. "It felt like a betrayal of the very narrative she's working so hard to craft."
"I think Diana's death remains one of the most heartbreaking and symbolic moments in modern royal history.
"Linking that memory, whether intentionally or accidentally, to a commercial product, especially one tied to alcohol, feels like a profound misjudgement.
"There are 363 other days to launch a wine or an alcohol brand. Choosing this one, even if unintentional, speaks volumes."
