Prince William has flown to Switzerland without his wife Kate Middleton and three children, local media reported on Wednesday.

According to the British media, the Prince of Wales arrived in Zurich to witness England play against Netherlands at the UEFA Women’s Euro match.

The 43-year-old was seen in the stands as he arrived in the stadium to watch the game and cheer on the Lionesses, England's women's football team.

The game was taking taking place at Stadion Letzigrun.

The future king flew to Switzerland a day after William and his wife made a rare joint appearance as they received French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron who arrived in the UK for a state visit.

The royal couple was then seen together at the state dinner, which was hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle in honour of Macron and his wife.

Kate Middleton is rarely seen with Prince William as she remains in remission from cancer.

The Princess of Wales is making a gradual return to royal duties after completing her chemotherapy.
