Measles claims 151 lives in Sindh this year

KARACHI: As many as 151 people died due to measles across the Sindh province this year so far, said Dr Masood Solangi Additional Secretary Health Sindh on Thursday.

Solangi said total 4,636 measles cases have been reported in Sindh since January 2013, out of which 151patients died.

He said out of 4,636 measles cases, 3,041 were reported in January, 783 in February, 495in March, 182 in April, 74 in May, 51 in June, 07 in July and 03 in month of August.

He further informed that out total 151 deaths, 99 were reported in January, 17 in February, 31 in March, 01 in April, 02 in May and 01 death was reported in month of June. He said no death was reported last month. (PPI)
