Daniel Stern, best known for appearing in the Home Alone films, has been charged with solicitation of prostitution following a recent incident on December 10.
Stern, 68, stands to face prosecution for the latest charges after his stay at a motel in Camarillo led to an undercover operation.
Parade reported that the legal action against the actor was sought by the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office.
The outlet further referenced “law enforcement officials” to confirm that he “was issued a citation at the scene for allegedly trying to solicit a prostitute.”
Despite the lawful regulation, Stern was “not arrested or booked at the time but was cited and released.”
“Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the alleged encounter, and no further charges have been announced at this time.”
Additional notable details about Stern’s case is that soliciting prostitution is considered a minor felony under the Californian law, with penalties amounting to roughly “six months in jail and/or a fine of up to $1,000 if convicted.”
Fox News Digital further reported that while Daniel Stern’s arraignment was initially set for January 13, it has now been delayed till February 6.
