Prince William's way to the British throne appears to be an easy road as his people-friendly nature is rising him to a new fame.
The future monarch has received a surprising offer from the Guinness World Record holder during the Investiture Ceremony at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, January 14.
The oldest solo rower across the Atlantic Ocean was recognised with an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
Kensington Palace shared William's video with a note: "A new year of investitures is underway!
"Congratulations to everyone receiving awards today."
Rothwel asked Kate's husband for a royal party in his hometown of Oldham. Frank Rothwell.
The 74-year-old owner of Oldham Athletic Football Club invited the future British king to hold a garden party in Oldham's Alexandra Park to celebrate the NHS's 80th anniversary and the birthday of Louise Joy Brown, the IVF baby born on July 25, 1978.
He also handed the Prince of Wales a letter, which reads: "In July 1992, Oldham enjoyed a royal garden party in our beautiful Alexandra Park, which was attended by Queen Elizabeth II, the Duke of Edinburgh and over one thousand guests."
Rothwell shared his plans for a 20 metre-wide embryo-shaped statue ree with William. However, the father-of three did not react to the offer.
The proposed artwork, described by the football club owner as a "dirty, great, big statue... just like the Angel of the North", is part of his mission to make the Greater Manchester town a "better place".
Rothwell became the oldest person to achieve the feat in 20, beating his own Guinness World Record on his second voyage in 2024.
