Ed Sheeran has finally disclosed the writing process behind his hit song Drive in sports drama film, F1.

It looks like the writing process did not take time at all as it was made while the singer was partying with friends in UK.

In an interview with Variety, Ed sat together with John Mayer and producer Blake Slatkin to show fans what went into making the from the blockbuster movie.

During the chat, Blake revealed that was out of town and wrote the song in one day himself.

The Shape of You singer then shared his side of story saying, “This is something that I quite like.”

He explained, “In England, there is a place called Butlins which is a budget holiday camp where I had gone with my mates. You can call it a bachelor party.

“And when I say like budget holiday camp, it’s like 60 quid for all of us to stay there or you can drink booze. And it was fun yeah f****** full on. But I wrote this there.”

Slatkin then shared that they had a time decided when they were supposed to write the lyrics together. But when he sent a draft to Sheeran.

The producer said, “Ed was eight hours ahead. So I woke up and he was like, ‘It’s already done I’ll call you.”

Drive belonged to film F1 that featured Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem, Damson Idris and Kerry Condon.
