U.S. President Donald Trump has fired Attorney General Pam Bondi, a White House Official confirmed Thursday, April 2.

This marks second senior Cabinet ouster in less than a month.

After Pam Banodi dismissal, Trump named Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, his former personal criminal defense lawyer, as acting attorney general.

Before Trump’s second term, Blanche has defended him in various indictments.

While writing on Truth Social, Trump wrote: “Pam is a Great American Patriot and a loyal friend.”

The president and Bondi had a heated confrontation at the White House last week, according to two sources.

Trump was dissatisfied because Bondi had not “executed on his vision” at the Justice Department, particularly on the speed at which she was prosecuting his critics and adversaries.

Over handling Epstein files, Bondi has also faced repeated criticism.

Trump supporters and Republican lawmakers accused her of concealing or mishandling the release of documents relating to the Justice Department's investigation into sex trafficking involving the late financier.

This became a political headache for Trump as his past association with Epstein came under renewed scrutiny.
