King Charles will lead the royal family at Windsor this Easter Sunday, with senior royals expected to turn out in support at the traditional service at St George’s Chapel.
Yet despite the united front, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie will be noticeably absent, having made alternative plans ahead of the gathering.
Their decision comes as the York sisters continue to keep a relatively low profile following the fallout surrounding their parents, Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.
The pair had appeared to reaffirm their place within the royal circle over Christmas, choosing to join the King at Sandringham making their Easter absence all the more intriguing.
King's relationship with his nieces appears quietly supportive but undeniably complex.
Eugenie recently faced a setback after her charity, Anti-Slavery International, cut ties with her as patron, though she still maintains a mentoring role within the King’s Foundation’s “35 Under 35” initiative.
Beatrice, meanwhile, remains listed as a Counsellor of State, designed to step in during the monarch’s absence or illness.
Despite not carrying out official royal duties, both sisters continue to benefit from royal arrangements.
