Prince William, in his role as Duke of Cornwall, spent his Wednesday morning at Windsor Castle for a series of important meetings tied to the management of one of the monarchy’s most historic estates.

According to The Court Circular the  Prince of Wales welcomed William Bax, Secretary of the Duchy of Cornwall, alongside Hugo van Vredenburch, the Lord Warden of the Stannaries.

The Duchy of Cornwall, established in 1337, is a vast private estate that provides income to the heir to the throne.

Today, it spans land, farms, residential properties and commercial ventures across the southwest of England, with a growing focus on sustainability, rural communities and modern land use.

William has taken an increasingly hands-on approach, signalling a shift toward forward-thinking management.

In recent months, there has been a clear emphasis on environmental responsibility, support for local businesses, and addressing housing challenges within Duchy land.

The presence of the Lord Warden of the Stannaries also reflects the Duchy’s enduring connection to Cornwall’s heritage.

The title dates back centuries, when the region’s tin industry played a vital role in the economy, and still carries ceremonial and administrative significance today.

Meetings like these form a key part of the Prince’s evolving responsibilities.
