Meghan Markle left surprised after Beyonce's move during London visit

Meghan Markle is growing worried that her important friendships are taking a different colour after she was reportedly snubbed by A-list pal.

The Duchess of Sussex is known to be close friends with Beyoncé and has received support from the superstar when she was going through a tough time with the British royal family. Moreover, the singer’s mum, Tina Knowles, also appeared on Meghan’s podcast last year.

The singer is even known to call Meghan “my princess”.

Hence, Meghan was left surprised when Beyoncé came all the way across the pond but did not make time for her during the visit. According to sources cited by Rob Shuter, while Meghan “didn’t expect Beyoncé to roll out a red carpet” but she was hoping to catch up over some tea.

Beyoncé spent Friday night celebrating her 45th birthday watching Jay-Z perform in London. When the private hangout didn’t happen, it “stung” her.

“Meghan believed their connection had moved beyond Hollywood niceties,” the insider said. “She thought Beyoncé was someone she could consider a genuine friend. Being in the same country and not seeing each other forced Meghan to question that.”

They added that Meghan was “hurt” as she didn’t want another Beyoncé concert but to have her company.

“Sometimes celebrity friendships look much closer from the outside than they actually are.”
