Following after the 2024-25 NBA season, he was set to receive a huge payout but his free agency trade was hit badly by the gambling probe last June.

The 29-year-old shooting guard did not play the last NBA season due to the gambling probe.

However, months later, his attorneys claimed the guard was no longer required for a federal probe.

Amid the gambling scam, NBA took notice of the situation and investigated the matter.

These allegations and probes caused Beasley went unsigned during the 2025-26 NBA season.

What exactly is Beasley accused of in the gambling scheme?

Beasley and Davis, who played for the Minnesota Timberwolves during the 2020-21 NBA season, are accused of working together to allegedly influence Beasley’s performance across four games during the 2023-24 season.

During that season, Beasley was on the Milwaukee Bucks’s roster, and Davis was out of the NBA scene.

Beasley allegedly carried millions in gambling-related debt, and this is where Davis came to the rescue, giving Beasley loans.

When both NBA veterans decided to pay off that debt, they got involved in a betting scheme, involving three others to bet tens of thousands on a game Beasley placed against the Cleveland Cavaliers during 2023-24 NBA season.

Beasley, who averaged 11.3 points per game that season, only posted three points in the game.

According to the outlet, Beasley, along with Davis, former NBA agent Paolo Zamorano and two other men, are facing charges of sports bribery, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, honest services fraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
