BBC One TV personality and a household name among Brits, set to bid farewell to BBC Breakfast.

Munchetty, 51, joined the morning show Breakfast in 2009.

Announcing the decision, Munchetty said, “It has been a privilege to be part of the BBC Breakfast TV team for the past 17 years.

“Working alongside an incredibly talented and hard-working group of journalists who are not only outstanding colleagues but also great friends.”

Munchetty, while revealing her next career stop, said, “Between now and January, I’ll continue presenting the two pogrammes I love.

I’m sure there will be plenty of news to cover, and it will very much be business as usual.”

Radio 5 Live presenters announced this morning, July 28, that they will step down in December.

Radio 5 Live breakfast presenters announced the replacement, saying, Naga Munchetty will become the new co-presenter of 5 Live Breakfast from January 2027.”

Munchetty, who has been the lead presenter for the last 12 years, joined BBC One’s Breakfast as a finance reporter.

She hosts Breakfast on BBC One with a three day slot, along with 5 Live’s midday programme for the remaining three days.

But from January onwards, Munchetty will present station's flagship morning show, 5 Live Breakfast five days a week.
