Alex Pretti's family demands justice in first TV interview since ICE shooting

Alex Pretti family broke silence seven months after their son was allegedly killed by an ICE officer in Minneapolis.

The family appeared in first TV interview on Good Morning America with host George Stephanopoulos.

Alex Pretti, 37, then, was an ICU nurse for the Department of Veterans Affairs and was shot and killed on January 24, during ‘Operation Metro Surge’, by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer in Minneapolis.

The killing follows just two weeks after Renee Good was shot and killed by an ICE officer in Minneapolis.

“We’ve seen what happened. The videos are pretty clear. But we want justice. We want accountability for the people that did this to Alex,” Pretti’s father, Michael Pretti speaks out for first time since her son’s killing.

The heartbroken Michael said his son was observing ICE activity when firing broke out.

“He cared deeply about his community. Minneapolis was his community. He wanted people to be treated fairly, no matter what walk of life, what their background was,” Michael Pretti added.

Alex’s mother described how she recognises her son’s body from his jacket and sunglasses from the footage flashed on TV.

“That’s how we found out, watch it on TV. Watching our son be shot ten times on TV,” Alex’s father continued.

“In the back,” Susan Pretti interrupted Michael.

Susan then pleaded the authorities about if anyone was held accountable, adding, “My shock is that he was murdered and no one has given us the complete truth or anyone has been held accountable.”

“What did he do to deserve to be murdered? To be left cold, on the ground, dead, my child? What did he do?” Susan questioned through tears.

While Alex’ sister Micayla Pretti also pleaded for justice, saying, “I want the names of the agents who shot her brother officially released.”

“They murdered our child,” Susan Pretti jumped in, adding, “People need to be held responsible when they murder people in this country.”

The DOJ maintained that the Department of Homeland Security and FBI are investigating the murder of Alex Pretti, while a spokesperson for the DHS confirmed to ABC News that the probe remains active.
