Nancy Guthrie's daughter Annie and Tommaso Cioni not suspects, Ex-FBI agent confirms

A former FBI agent has addressed speculation surrounding Nancy Guthrie’s daughter and son-in-law Tommaso Cioni, dismissing claims that they were ever investigated for elder abuse.

Nancy Guthrie, who is the 84-year-old mother of Savannah Guthrie, TODAY show host, has been missing since February 1, having been supposedly kidnapped from her home in Catalina Foothills, Arizona. More than seven months later, there is still no information on a possible suspect in this case.

At the beginning of this investigation, a card from social services was found at the home of Guthrie, which made some users on the Internet assume that Annie Guthrie and her husband Tommaso Cioni had been accused of elder abuse. It is known that the couple had dinner with Nancy on the eve of her disappearance, with Tommaso delivering his wife home afterwards.

Now the former FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer has shed light on the situation, claiming that the card was put at the house for a completely different purpose. Coffindaffer says that the card was placed to make sure that social services were available for the end of this case in case they would be required.

Coffindaffer said she received information from a source at the office that sent the card, who confirmed that no elder abuse case was ever opened against Annie or Tommaso “in any way, shape, or form.”
