Pakistan women’s team off to Doha for tri-series cricket

KARACHI: Led by Nida Dar, Pakistan women’s cricket team left here for Doha (Qatar) to take part in the tri-series being held at West End Park Stadium from January 10 to 24.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is hosting the two tournaments, in what will be the first exposure for international women cricketers in Qatar.

The triangular ODI tournament, featuring South Africa and Ireland, will be played from January 10-17 and will be followed by the triangular T20 series from January 19-24.

The Pakistan team started preparations on December 23 at the South End Club in Karachi. The women cricketers also played several practice matches against various men’s outfits during the camp.
