Selena Gomez, Benny Blanco celebrate one year of marriage: 'Forever to go'

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco are celebrating their first wedding anniversary.

On Sunday, September 27, the couple marked one year since they tied the knot with sweet tributes and one very important family tradition.

“Happy anniversary my love,” Gomez, 34, wrote on her Instagram Stories along with a black-and-white picture of them as newlyweds. “I love you to the moon and back,” she added.

Meanwhile, Blanco, 38, revealed the anniversary tradition he and Gomez took part in: eating their frozen leftover wedding cake.

“1 year down… forever to go…” he wrote in the next slide.

The music producer recently revealed during an appearance on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle that they froze their wedding cake after Gomez’s nana insisted on it.

“I didn’t even know this was a thing. Her grandma, her nana told me this,” he said. “And I was like, ‘Why?’ She was like, ‘You have to eat it.’”

The couple were able to salvage most of their wedding cake after Gomez’s Only Murders in the Building costar Martin Short accidentally ate it before the cake-cutting. “Then they had to put it back together,” Blanco recalled.

The couple tied the knot in Santa Barbara after one year of engagement and two years of dating.
