Prince Harry's plea to uncle emerges as Earl Spencer takes surprise step

Prince Harry has found himself in a rather awkward position between his beloved uncle Charles Spencer and his father King Charles, with whom he plans to reconcile.

However, the latest book published by the Earl has reopened the old wounds for the monarch, leaving him furious enough to issue an unprecedented statement for it.

It is believed that the King’s close aides had tried to intervene but only managed to tone down the statement. Now, sources reveal that Harry’s uncle is making effort to clarify position of his nephew as to not ruin any chances of reconciliation for him.

“Harry has been trying to skate down the middle and insist that he’s not taking sides, but that’s just not possible,” a source told Woman’s Day.

“His uncle is going after the King with a vengeance, if he doesn’t distance himself the only conclusion is that he’s co-signing this attack on his own father.” 

Diana’s younger brother made it clear that “nobody knew” about the book except his wife and none of his family members were “in any way involved” in the book – and by that he meant “particularly” Harry.

The insider noted that it has been “very self-defeating” for Harry as he was on a mission to be back in his father’s “good graces and he was actually making progress”.

“But now that’s all come grinding to a halt because of course the King, and every one of his advisors, is now questioning how trustworthy he can possibly be if he’s not prepared to distance himself from a man that’s trying to sabotage the monarchy.”

However, Harry will not abandon his uncle or anyone from the Spencer family as they stood by him when no one else did.
