CHITTAGONG: A 145-run second wicket partnership between Mahela Jayawardene and Tillekeratne Dilshan helped Sri Lanka set a huge target of 190 runs for England in the day/night match of Group-1 in the Super Ten stage of the World Twenty20 here at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Thursday.

After England captain Stuart Broad sent them into bat first, Sri Lanka piled up a big total of 189 for the loss of four wickets in the 20 overs.

Jayawardene made 89 from just 51 balls with eleven fours and three sixes while Dilshan scored 55 off 47 balls with four boundaries and two sixes.

But no other batsman could make any significant score as Kumar Sangakkar was dismissed for first-ball naught.

For England, pace bowlers Jade Dernbatch and Chris Jordan claimed two wickets each.
