Gianchandani's health condition worsens

LARKANA: Well-known scholar and comrade Sobho Gianchandani's health condition has deteriorated but he could not be taken to Karachi due to a broken down air ambulance, Geo News reported Sunday.

A chest infection has caused his health condition to become worse but an air ambulance that was on its way to Larkana to shift 94-year old Gianchandani to Karachi had to take a u-turn after developing a technical fault. So, the scholar could not be brought to Karachi for treatment.

Now, the Sindh Cultural Department has announced to make available an air ambulance on Monday to get Sobho Gianchandani shifted to Karachi by 10 AM.

Gianchandani's name shines as one of the political luminaries and significant literary figures of Larkana. He is one of the founding members of Hari Tehreek and Sindhi Adabi Sangat, who also practiced as a lawyer.

He was the first non-Muslim and non-Urdu recipient of the Pakistan's top literary Kamal-e-Fun Award for 2004.

He also remained a member of the Communist Party of Pakistan.

Ginachandani's family has appealed the philanthropists for financial help for his treatment.
