DALLAS, Texas: US Congresswoman from Dallas area Eddie Bernice Johnson has said that it's time DFW area was represented by at least two Democratic Congressmen in the upcoming US elections.

She was addressing a fundraising dinner hosted by Muslim Democratic Caucus of Texas for US Congress candidate Marc Veasey.

Congresswoman Johnson said that his party vauled the support Muslim community’s for Democratic candidates and wished to reciprocate accordingly.

Johnson said she was delighted to see Marc Vesey getting support from a cross section of our society. According to Johnson, she endorsed Marc Vesey for his hard work and determination.

The congresswoman said she advised Marc not to worry about money for TV commercials as she had herself never bought TV commercials in her 40 years of political life.

“I have always depended on my voters and this is what I advised Marc.”

She said Americans celebrated 236th Independence Day just a few days back, but it should not be forgotten that freedom was not an easy thing to have.

Johnson said that US believed in religious freedom as it bred new ideas and innovations. She urged the expatriates to vote for the person who carried their voice, and believed in all that they believed in.

Johnson said that Congress was the strongest institution in the world, which had both deranged and smart people in it and that’s democracy.

Ghulam Jangda, Syed Fayyaz Hassan, Hadi Jawwad, Aftab Siddiqui ,a and other officials of Muslim Democratic Caucus also spoke on the occasion.

The event was attended by Mrs Mcgovern candidate for US Congress district 32, Mohasin Madavia, Raja Zahid Khanzada, Dr Mona Kazim Shah, District Judge Mrs Gina Salutar, Kenneth Sanders candidate for US congress for district 6, Ms Lisa Sherrod, Rod Givens and a large number of people from all walks of lives.
