ISLAMABAD: A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court for binding the political parties of the country to hold transparent intra-party elections.
A man named Gul Zali Khan in his petition also sought holding of direct elections on reserved seats of National Assembly.
The Election Commission should de-notify any political party that fails to hold party elections and it should also be barred from taking part in general or by-elections, the petitioner prayed.
The constitution petition further said that there should be direct elections on reserved seats for minorities and women.
