US presidential debate discussed in Dallas
DALLAS: Fun Asia Entertainment in Dallas with the support of Muslim Democratic Caucus, Council on American Islamic Relation (CAIR) and many non-partisan, non-political organizations hosted a presidential debate watch party Thursday night in Graland.

The purpose of this event was to bring Muslim community together so that they could learn about other organisations’ point of views regarding the debate.

Prior to, and after the debate, two Republicans and two Democrats shared their thoughts about the debate.

Muslim community leader Mike Ghous defended the Republican Party and Syed Fayyaz Hussan, Aftab Siddique, Hadi Jawad, and others were with the Democrats.

Mike Ghouse said, ‘All Republicans are not extremists, but most of the political extremists are Republicans,” with a reiteration, “you cannot blame the Party for the acts of the few,” he said.

Mike said that where right wing Republicans are dominant, they probably will bash the Democrats, and that would be the case with right wing Democrats. ‘We need to be more reasonable than that and not make this as a bashing entertainment party.’

Democratic party defender Syed Fayyaz Hussan, Aftab Siddique, Hadi Jawad, and others said President Obama spoke more than Romney because he had the information.

The Democrats’ candidate for US congress district 102 Rich Hancock also addressed the event and said that only Democratic party is taking care of all minorities living in the United States

ICNA president Mohason Mandavia, Karaquram Thinker Forum President Sirij Butt, South Asia Democracy Watch Director Dr Qasir Abbas, Raja Zahid and others also attended the event.
