Federal Tax Ombudsman denies leaking MPs’ tax information

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) on Wednesday said it neither had parliamentarians’ tax record nor it was leaked to media, Geo News reported.

It termed all the reports in this regard as misleading .In a statement it said that there was no reality in the information about the Federal Tax Ombudsman Secretariat giving parliamentarians’ tax record to the media or an NGO.

The statement said that the record is held by the Federal Board of Revenue.

It is to mention here that the Public Accounts Committee had directed the FBR chairman to investigate whether Federal Tax Ombudsman Shoib Suddle had provided information to an NJO regarding the alleged tax evasion of parliamentarians.
