KARACHI: The blood-soaked dead body of a man was found lying in the backseat of an auto rickshaw parked on a thoroughfare near a local hotel here on late Sunday night, Geo News reported.
Rescue sources said the unmistakable bullet-wounds on the body and the blood all over the passenger compartment of the rickshaw showed the man died of excessive bleeding after getting shot several times that too not long ago.
With its driver nowhere to be found, the auto rickshaw, carrying the "gunned-down passenger", was found parked near Regent Plaza, a three-star hotel, on Sharae Faisal, a main artery of the metropolis.
Police say the identity of the dead man as well as the shooter(s) was a question they could not answer right now.
They suspected the killer(s) after shooting the man to death either hid his body in the rickshaw or they were to dump it somewhere else but due to some reason preferred to make themselves at large without a trace.
The body was shifted to Jinnah Post-Graduate Medical Center (JPMC) for medicolegalities.
An investigation has been launched into the not so mysterious murder case.
