Sindh government’s drive to recover unlicensed weapons fails
KARACHI: The campaign, started by the Sindh government, to recover illegal arms voluntarily has totally failed as only 19 weapons were submitted, Geo News reported.

Millions of rupees were spent on the campaign, started two week ago. The drive ended on Saturday.

Sindh Information Minister, Sharjeel Memon Saturday said the government’s writ will be restored at all costs and that the date for submitting illegal weapons will not be extended.

He said the law enforcers will enhance the scope of their ongoing search operation to seize illegal weapons from today (Sunday).

Lauding the performance of Rangers and police, Memon said they have been given a free hand to carry out the operation. The confidence of traders and people in law enforces has been restored, he added.
