Karachi: 14 held in Lyari operation
KARACHI Rangers, police, and other agencies have set a joint operation in motion to bring the situation under control in Lyari, arresting 14 suspects overnight.

All the entry and exit points in the restive areas of Lyari were sealed and raids being conducted in search of gangsters o f the Lyari gang-war, which is raging unabated as 10 more people lost their lives on Saturday.

Director General Sindh Rangers and Karachi Police chief Shahid Hayat visited the affected areas to monitor the situation.

A high level meeting of the police and Sindh Rangers was held in the early hours of Sunday, said a statement issued by the paramilitary force.

According to the statement, the meeting held at the Rangers Headquarters reviewed law and order situation in Lyari and decided to continue operation in the troubled neighborhood till the arrest of all the criminals.

The statement noted that civil administration will provide food to the affected people of Lyari.
