COAS witnesses live field firing, battle inoculation maneuvers

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif visited Tilla Ranges near Jhelum on Wednesday and witnessed live field firing and battle inoculation maneuvers being conducted in near real environment, said a statement issued by the ISPR.
On arrival at the Tilla Ranges, the Chief of Army Staff was given a detailed briefing on the aim and objectives of ongoing exercise by the respective Field Commanders. Troops from Lahore Corps and PAF aircraft participated in the exercise.
COAS commended the standard of training of the participating troops and lauded their skills, precision and accuracy in engaging the targets. While talking to troops, COAS said all available means must be utilized to improve the operational capability of the army to effectively respond to full spectrum of threat.
Strenuous training and highest standard of preparedness in peacetime are the only guarantors of peace, said the army chief.
