FAFEN seeks political talks for electoral reforms

ISLAMABAD: The Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) has sought political talks for electoral reforms in Pakistan.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, FAFEN has stressed that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) should have complete authority over election staff and affairs.

According to FAFEN this is a necessity for free and fair elections in Pakistan where the existing laws provide space for election rigging.

FAFEN states that there will be questions raised on elections until the ECP is made into an independent body.

FAFEN added that all election staff should be answerable to the ECP which should have authority to dismiss them in case of irregularities.
