According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) wing of the Pakistan Army, militants armed with heavy weapons attacked a security check post in Sur Qamar area of Tehsil Jamrud.
The injured and bodies were shifted to a hospital in Peshawar while security forces cordoned-off the area and launched a search operation.
The Pakistan Army is engaged in Zarb-e-Azb, a 'comprehensive operation' against militants in North Waziristan.
