Qaim criticizes his government over infant deaths in Thar
KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah criticized his government over the continued death of infants in Tharparkar on Thursday.

Speaking to journalists, the chief minister said he was concerned over the infant deaths in Mithi and Tharparkar but added, that the Mithi hospital has been upgraded and the facilities available at the hospital today are far better than before.

The chief minister said the health budget has been increased to Rs. 43 million adding that he hopes the funds will be utilized adequately.

Commenting on transferring the immunization programs for Dadu and Badin to a private firm, the chief minister said if the company performs better further districts may also be handed over to them for immunization campaigns.

The chief minister said there is pressure from international organizations over the increasing incidence of Polio. He added, that measures are being implemented to provide better security to Polio immunization teams as well increasing the number of female doctors available in the rural areas.
