Misbah’s Islamabad United beat Karachi Kings by 5 wickets

SHARJAH: Captain Misbah-ul-Haq led his Islamabad United team from the front scoring a run-a-ball 38 to achieve an average target of 129 runs with ease against Karachi Kings here on Sunday.

Khalid Latif also contributed well with 33 runs while a 31 run cameo off just 17 balls by Asif Ali to cross the winning line with 7 balls to spare.

Sohail Khan grabbed two wickets while Mohammad Amir, Usama Mir and Ravi Bopara took a wicket each for Kings.

Earlier, England all-rounder Ravi Bopara scored 45 to help Karachi Kings post 128 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their full 20 overs in the 16th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Bopara too could not accelerate the Kings innings and scored 45 runs off 50 balls. Mushfiqur Rahim made 33 in 27 balls and opener Shahzaib Hasan 27 off 29 deliveries for their side.

Left-arm spinner Imran Khalid grabbed two wickets while Mohammad Sami, Andre Russell and Azhar Mehmood – former Pakistan international playing as a foreign player – shared a wicket each.
