ISLAMABAD: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has green-signaled the DISCOS to raise power tariff by Rs1.70/unit, Geo News reported.
The Authority has revised the tariff upwards after Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) sent it a request making it necessary. This raise is for the September.
NEPRA said that this hike is under the head of monthly fuel adjustment.
Skyrocketing furnace oil was the main precursor of this move.
The recent hike is not applicable to Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) and lifeline users.
