RIO DE JANEIRO: Heavy rains and landslides in southeast Brazil have left at least seven people dead and more than 10, 000 people homeless.

Heavy rains in Minas Gerais caused severe flooding on Wednesday (January 4) and left at least seven dead, three missing and some 10,000 homeless.

Authorities put over 50 towns in the state on high alert.
